“Planning for College” Free Seminar

Leominster, MA – All One Credit Union is hosting a free, no-obligations seminar “How to Prepare, Pay for and Stay in College.”  The seminar will provide valuable information for both students and their parents as they begin to navigate the process of selecting and paying for college.  Topics include: Preparing For College; Scholarships (Different types & How to find them); Choosing a College; Financial Aid Overview; FAFSA Process; Understanding the Award Letter; Federal Loans vs. Private Student Loans.

Fall Shred-A-Thon Scheduled for September 16, 2017 at Headquarters

All One Credit Union will hold a Shred-A-Thon at its 18 Adams Street, Leominster, MA location on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 9:00AM – Noon.

Members and non-members can get rid of old, sensitive documents by shredding and recycling them at the Shred-A-Thon. All items will be shred on site by a secure shredding service, New England Security Shredders.

Members of the community can bring up to three legal size file boxes or three 13-gallon kitchen trash bags to be shred for free. However we will be accepting donations to Habitat for Humanity during the event. The Shred-A-Thon helps raise awareness about recycling and of course the importance of shredding personal documents to protect against identity theft.

Important documents to bring to the Shred-A-Thon include bank statements, tax returns, medical bills, credit card statements and other personal documents.

All One Credit Union holds Annual Meeting and Election of Officers to the Board of Directors

LEOMINSTER, MA – The Annual Meeting of All One Credit Union was held on April 18, 2017 at the Credit Union’s Executive and Operations Building in Leominster.

The President’s report presented the financial highlights for 2016. Total assets ending 2016 increased to $643 million from $627 million at the end of 2015. LCU is ranked as the 13th largest credit union in Massachusetts. LCU’s loan portfolio remains strong increasing from $419 million in 2015 to $440 million in 2016. Deposits increased from $436 million in 2015 to $454 million in 2016. With a capital/asset ratio of 8.70%, All One Credit Union is recognized as a Well Capitalized Financial Institution by its regulators.

Following the Annual Meeting, the Board of Directors met and elected officers for 2017-2018.

Michael J. Sauvageau was re-elected to the office of Chairman of the Board. He is a Leominster resident and has been on the Board since 2007. Sauvageau serves on LCU’s Executive Committee.

Richard A. Sheppard was elected Vice Chairman. Sheppard serves on the Executive, Audit, Investment and Compensation Committees.  He is a Sterling resident and has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2005.

Andrew D. Cousins was elected Treasurer. Cousins is a resident of Sterling and joined the All One Credit Union Board of Directors in 2005.  Cousins serves on the Executive, Audit and Compensation Committees.

Nancy L. Graves was elected Assistant Treasurer. Graves serves on the Executive, Credit, Investment, and Advisory Committees. She is a Leominster resident and has served on the LCU Board of Directors since 2004.

Giulio G. Greco, was elected Clerk. Greco has served as Chairman from 1994-1998 and again from 2008-2011. He currently serves on the Executive and Credit Committees. Greco is a lifelong resident of Leominster. He has served on the Board since 1978.

Joining the officers on the 2017-2018 Board of Directors are, Amedeo E. Bilotta of Lunenburg, Bruce J. Bollivar of Holden, Anthony A. Gasbarro of Leominster, Henry C. Kulik, Jr. of Westminster, Joyce A. LaFleur of Leominster and Joseph V. Quintal of Clinton. The Board of Directors is responsible for setting LCU policies.

Lydia Vazquez Named a Cooperative Credit Union Association Rising Star

All One Credit Union announces that Lydia Vazquez, Assistant Vice President of Residential Lending and Fair Lending Compliance has been named a Credit Union Rising Star by the Cooperative Credit Union Association. The Credit Union Rising Star Award honors “outstanding New England credit union employees under the age of 50 who make notable impact in their institutions or the credit union industry.”

Vazquez joined LCU in 2013 as the fair lending officer and oversees the credit union’s compliance with fair lending, secondary market guidelines and underwriting policies. Since joining LCU she has created a fair lending program, CRA monitoring systems, and regulatory training sessions. She holds a “CUCE” designation and is working on her Bachelor’s Degree in business through the New England Business of College.

Vazquez founded Willie’s Warrior’s, an organization dedicated to raising funds for cancer awareness. Willie’s Warriors is in its 4th year and last year with the support of All One Credit Union and her relay team she was one the top fundraisers.

”We are very proud of Lydia. This very well-deserved honor,” said John J. O’Brien.  “Lydia’s commitment to her community, as well as to LCU is what makes her a Rising Star.”

All One Credit Union Announces Scholarship Winner

LEOMINSTER, MA – June 19, 2017, – All One Credit Union, on behalf of the Cooperative Credit Union Association, Inc. is pleased to announce that Katherine Arsenault is the winner of a $1,500 Scholarship. One scholarship per each of the six Credit Union Charters are given out annually. Each Credit Union selects the top three candidates which are forwarded along to the CCUA for review and selection.

Arsenault has been involved in a number of extra-curricular and community activities. She is a member of the National Honor Society and a Massachusetts Girls State Delegate.  She volunteered at St. Edward’s Outreach Ministry and Fall Festival, the Forbush Memorial Library and served on Governor Deval Patrick’s Cradles to Crayons Clothing Drive to name a few. Arsenault was on the student council from grades 9-12, closing senior year as the Vice President. In addition to her school and community activities, Arsenault maintained a GPA of 4.06%.

Arsenault recently graduated from Oakmont Regional High School, Ashburnham, MA.

All One Credit Union Donates Books to Local Organizations

For the seventeenth consecutive year, All One Credit Union participated in Children’s Book Month, an annual event sponsored by the Cooperative Credit Union Association.

During the month of April LCU members and employees collected donations of 1,375 new and used children’s books.  The books were distributed to the Red Raiders Lending Library program and various organizations.

This year’s event was spearheaded by LCU employees Nancy Daigle, Kathy Hurley and Rachel Terrell. Since 2009, LCU collected and donated 7,118 books to various agencies.
