After many years of dedicated leadership, All One Credit Union (AOCU) announces that our President and CEO, Barbara Mahoney will be retiring as of December 31, 2026.
During her distinguished career, Barbara played a pivotal role in shaping the growth, vision, and success of the organization through strategic leadership, innovation, and unwavering commitment. Barbara has helped guide All One Credit Union through many important milestones including significant system enhancements and expanded digital tools, organizational efficiencies, and a comprehensive rebrand.
Barbara has been with the Credit Union for over 20 years and began her tenure as the Senior Vice President of Human Resources and then as the Chief Operations Officer, prior to moving into the position as President and CEO. Before joining AOCU, Barbara was employed by Allmerica Financial as Director of Human Resources, for 14 years, and before that held several management roles at Bank of Boston.
“It has been the honor of my career to serve this remarkable Credit Union and work alongside such talented and committed individuals. I am thankful for the relationships we have built with our members and communities and grateful for their trust in us. I am proud of what we have accomplished together and confident in the bright future ahead. Thank you for allowing me the privilege of leading this journey with you”, stated Barbara Mahoney, President and CEO, All One Credit Union.
As a passionate supporter of numerous community groups and nonprofit organizations in Central Massachusetts, Barbara has always conveyed the importance of giving back to help strengthen our communities.
“Barbara Mahoney has spent her career improving lives across North Central Massachusetts. As Chair of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, she brought a steady, thoughtful presence during uncertain economic times, keeping our focus squarely on the needs of our members and the communities we serve. Having worked alongside Barbara both at the Chamber and on the Board of the Boys and Girls Club, I’ve seen firsthand how she leads, with genuine care, quiet determination, and an unwavering commitment to people. That same spirit has defined her work at MassHire, Scouting America, and every other cause she has championed. North Central Massachusetts has been fortunate to have her, and her impact will long outlast her tenure,” said Roy Nascimento, President & CEO, North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce.
Some of the organizations Barbara has supported over the past 30 years include the North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce, Boys & Girls Club of Fitchburg and Leominster, Fitchburg State University Foundation Board, Masshire North Central Workforce Board, Employers Association of the NorthEast Board, Worcester University Foundation Committee, and the Foundation Board and committees at St. Bernard’s High School. Barbara was also a member of the Society of Human Resources Management and the NorthEast Human Resources Association.
“Barbara has been an important part of our organization, fostering a culture of collaboration, community service, innovation and growth. We are deeply grateful for her commitment and the legacy she leaves behind,” expressed Michael Sauvageau, AOCU Board Chair. Plans are currently underway to select a new candidate to lead the Credit Union.
On behalf of the entire organization, we extend our sincere appreciation for Barbara’s valuable contributions to All One Credit Union and wish her a happy and healthy retirement.
